It appears that almost everyone has an “ghost kitchen” liquor label, or cookie label. Why not all three? Here’s one that caught our eye the last week Rapper Eminem recently opened an eatery called Mom’s Spaghetti located in Detroit. It’s a humorous reference to the intro of his 2002 hit song “Lose Yourself.’ You’ll remember the line where he says, ‘His palms sweaty, his knees are weak, and his the arms weigh a lot. There’s a puddle of vomit on his sweater already, and mom’s spaghetti.’ The guests can pick from the name-brand Mom’s Spaghetti (with or without meatballs) or go for the ‘Sghetti Sandwich’ that crams delicious noodles in two bread slices.
After the break of the year 2020 following a hiatus in 2020, after a break of ten years, the Michelin Guide has come returning to California with eight Michelin-starred establishments located in Los Angeles -all of them in the category of fine dining and beyond and include Hayato which is a Japanese restaurant that has received an increase from just one star star to two stars. Phenakite is an outdoor dining pop-up restaurant that was made a permanent establishment by Porridge and Puffs Minh Phan was also awarded a star. The same pattern was followed in its return in the year 2019 back to Southern California, the French tire company’s guide for 2021 once was adamant about not awarding star recognition to L.A.’s most casual restaurants as well as street food vendors. It’s an oversight that is even more shocking in light of the fact that stalls and inexpensive restaurants located in Hong Kong and Macau have received awards previously. The guide this year praised top-of-the-line restaurants like Gucci Osteria in Beverly Hills and Josiah Citrin’s Melisse in Santa Monica, passing over Mexican and Korean places such as Bell’s La Casita Mexicana and Park’s BBQ in K-town, which have been awarded the highest accolades.
