Nestle brands take steps to promote sustainability

In all industries, decades and even nations, I’ve always viewed brands as a catalyst for the evolution of the world.

Today, it’s more crucial than ever before that brands help find solutions to decrease plastic use and support climate action. The expectations are high. there’s no longer a focus on the reduction of negative effects, but rather companies like ours are striving at be active in helpingdrive positive results. When you’re working on this magnitude the size of the project is important and I have a distinct satisfaction of working for a company that has a wide size and impact and create a positive impact through empowering environmental initiatives that span nations and even continents.

At Nestle Our goal is to develop the development of regenerative food systems on a large scale. This includes supporting the creation of systems for food production that to protect, restore and restore the ecosystem and improve the lives that farmers have, as well as improve the resilience and health of rural communities. Of course, true change doesn’t happen overnight. In the realm of sustainability we’re committed to the long haul here at Nestle by investing in bold and innovative initiatives that will aid our planet and its inhabitants for a long time to in the future. We’re determined to share the results of our work and I’d like to spotlight three Nestle brands that are doing a lot of impressive work in sustainability around the globe.

Nescafe of partnership: Decades of collaboration

In the last year 87% of Nescafe coffee came from the Nescafe Plan Our strategy to assist coffee farmers improve their environmental footprint and also their earnings. Regenerative agriculture is at core of the plan. I recently traveled to Vietnam in the country where coffee farmers who cultivate Nescafe beans are working together with local authorities and researchers to diversify the crops and to develop new irrigation techniques and gain a better understanding of the plant’s. They’re employing a smartphone app supported by Nestle to determine exactly how they can overcome the challenges facing coffee plants. This helps the farmers avoid overusing chemicals, protect the quality of their soil and cut down on their costs. It was amazing to witness.

In Vietnam I also got to know local agronomists who are always trying to improve their production by testing different varieties of coffee across the globe. It is worth noting that the Nescafe Program was introduced more than 10 years ago and has been thriving ever since. These investments benefit greatly from the deep relationships with farmers and other partners by fully understanding their needs and customizing our support for their needs. It’s a long-term and committed method that will require significant investments over a long period of time. This approach’s impact (pdf 9MB) is already felt from the farm to the cup.

Gerber Extending our commitment to the future generation

In the US Our baby food brand Gerber is involved in regenerative agriculture at an entirely new level. Gerber invests in farms for research to investigate how regenerative agriculture can help improve the health of soils in terms of biodiversity, nutrition, and soil health. In addition they are also investing in research farms to study how regenerative farming can benefit biodiversity, soil health Clean Field Farming TM The approach already supports agriculture experts working with farmers on soil as well as seeds and harvest to ensure that vegetable and fruit purees aren’t just nutritious but also healthy and safe for everyone’s stomach.

Sustainability is an integral part in the Gerber‘s journey throughout the process, from manufacturing (100 percent of our production waste is diverted away from landfills towards more sustainable facilities) and packaging (working to create all of our packaging suitable to be recyclable in 2025). I view Gerber as an excellent illustration of how a company can grow and become more sustainable but stay true to its roots as a healthy food company. as well as a healthy environment are essential to the parents of children.
